Morris College Wins Division Honda Campus All-Star Challenge

The Morris College Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Team placed first in the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Pre-National Championship Tournament on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Team members representing Morris College were: Rita Briggs, senior; Ellis Clayton, III, junior; James McEachern, senior; and Marquice Clark, senior. Robert Zalimas, an assistant professor in the Division of General Studies, serves as the team’s advisor.

The team will go on to the national championship to be held March 30 – April 3, 2012 in Los Angeles, Calif. for the opportunity to win up to $50,000 for the national title.

Fifteen schools from five states, S.C., N.C, Ga., Va., and W.Va., competed in the PRE-NCT Tournament.

The Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, created by College Bowl and sponsored by Honda, is an academic competition that engages students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
