College Announces Religious Emphasis Week and Mid-Winter Banquet Speakers

SUMTER, S.C. — Dr. James B. Blassingame, vice-president-at-large of the Baptist E & M Convention of South Carolina and the senior pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC, will speak on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the college’s Mid-Winter Banquet in the Garrick-Boykin Human Development Center.

The banquet culminates the college’s observance of Religious Emphasis Week, Tuesday,February 19, 2013 through Friday, February 22, 2013. Dr. Charles B. Jackson, Sr., newly elected chairman of the Morris College Board of Trustees and the senior pastor of Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC, will be the speaker. Dr. Jackson will preach at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.  On Friday, he will give the closing message at 10 a.m. These services will take place in the Neal-Jones Auditorium.

The Mid-Winter Banquet is the college’s second largest fundraising event and is sponsored by the Baptist E & M Convention of SC.
