SUMTER, S.C. — Morris College was recently named on the list of Most Affordable Small Private Colleges by AffordableCollegesOnline.org. The organization’s 2013 “Most Affordable Small Private Colleges” list includes “65 top quality small private colleges that have an affordable price tag.”
Colleges on the list were selected based on data collected from the National Center for Education Statistics, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the Carnegie Foundation.
Dan Schuessler, ACO founder said, “Our lists look at value colleges that provide an excellent education. These schools are much more affordable for a wider base of students. In a time when the cost of college continues to skyrocket and student debt balloons, it is important to promote more affordable options.”
Dr. Luns C. Richardson, president of Morris College states, “A first-rate affordable education is essential for all students. It is an investment that opens opportunities for unlimited possibilities and a better quality of life for our students who come from mostly middle to low-income families.”
The entity, Affordable CollegesOnline.org provides students and parents with information on affordable options in higher education. According to Schuessler, their website is the first to have a comprehensive list of “Most Affordable Colleges” in various categories. The website provides financial aid videos, advice from financial aid officers, and up-to-date cost-saving government initiatives and a categorized directory of introductory classes from several top named universities.
